A summary news lead is constructed from details gained during a reportive investigation. The summary lead should contain the most important information and should answer most of the 5 w's (Who, What, Where, When, Why and sometimes, How). The rest of the story should follow in descending order of importance and conclude with a piece of information that could be cut by the editor if needed.
